OUR MISSION

Surrender the Right.

Our mission to inspire a bipartisan movement to end the culture of gun violence in America. We created Surrender the Right to speak truth and love to fellow Christians and other people of faith who may be anxious or reluctant to surrender their weapons. We believe it is our duty as Christ followers to address this issue with humbleness and an attitude that leads to surrender.

QUESTIONS TO PONDER

With a humble heart, come before the Lord and meditate on these questions.

What are the reasons I desire to own these weapons?

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

Do I find my identity in them?

To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24

What do I put my trust and hope in?

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3

Would you lay down your weapon to save a friend’s life? Your spouse? Your children?

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:23-27

What am I willing to sacrifice?

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.” John 15:12-14
